The Leaves Be Green
This programme explores the golden age of English consort music from the Tudor times, including several settings of the famous melody The Leaves be Greene as well as other classic pieces including Dowland’s famous Lachrymae Pavan, and music by Byrd, Holborne and members of the Bassano family. Complemented by music from talented modern day composers inspired by early English masters, this is a true musical celebration of England's rich musical heritage, past and present.

In this special programme of some of the most beautiful and remarkable music from Renaissance Italy, Fontanella presents madrigals, balletti, dance music and instrumental works by Gastoldi, Festa, Lassus, Fontanelli, Gesualdo, Monteverdi and Rognoni. This is a feast of glorious music from a truly extraordinary age of Western musical development, against the rich cultural backdrop of Rome, Florence, Venice and Siena.

Musica Transalpina
From across the alps, this varied and colourful programme discovers the wealth of music from Austria, Germany and Northern Italy spanning 400 years. Featuring medieval music from the famous Glogauer Liederbuch and renaissance favourites by Senfl and Lassus, the programme also includes baroque music with continuo accompaniment (lute and harpsichord) by Rosenmüller, Frescobaldi, Scheidt and Telemann. With guest artists Robin Bigwood, harpsichord and Arngeir Hauksson, lutes.
